How to Set Up Your ROOXIS AC1200 WiFi Router
Getting your ROOXIS AC1200 dual-band router up and running is straightforward. This guide walks you through every step, from unboxing to browsing the web on a fast, secure connection.
What's in the Box
Before you start, verify that your package includes all of the following items:
- 1x ROOXIS AC1200 Dual-Band WiFi Router
- 1x 12V/1.5A Power Adapter
- 1x Ethernet Cable (Cat5e, 1 meter)
- 1x Quick Start Guide
- 4x Detachable High-Gain Antennas
If anything is missing or damaged, contact ROOXIS Support before proceeding.
Step 1: Attach the Antennas
Screw all four antennas into the threaded connectors on the back of the router. Hand-tighten them until snug. Position them upright for now — you can adjust their angle later for better coverage.
Step 2: Connect the Router to Your Modem
- Power off your modem by unplugging its power cable. Wait 30 seconds.
- Take the included Ethernet cable and plug one end into the WAN port on the back of your ROOXIS router. The WAN port is colored blue and labeled clearly — do not use the yellow LAN ports for this connection.
- Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet output port on your modem.
- Power your modem back on and wait about two minutes for it to fully boot up.
Warning: Make sure you connect your modem to the WAN port, not one of the LAN ports. Connecting to a LAN port will prevent the router from getting an internet connection.
Step 3: Power On the Router
- Connect the included power adapter to the DC input on the back of the router.
- Plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
- Press the Power button on the back panel if the router does not turn on automatically.
- Wait approximately 60 seconds for the router to fully boot. You will see the following LED behavior:
- The indicator light will first be constant blue — this means the system is starting up and establishing a network connection.
- Once successfully connected, the indicator light will stay solid blue and blink during data transmission.
Tip: If the indicator light does not turn solid blue after two minutes, double-check that your modem is powered on and the Ethernet cable is firmly seated in both the modem and the router's WAN port.
Step 4: Connect to the Default WiFi Network
On your computer, phone, or tablet, open your WiFi settings and look for a network named @ROOXIS-XXXX-2.4G or @ROOXIS-XXXX-5G, where XXXX is the last four digits of your router's MAC address. You can find the exact default network name printed on the sticker on the bottom of the router.
- Select either the @ROOXIS-XXXX-2.4G or @ROOXIS-XXXX-5G network.
- The default network is open (no password). Connect directly.
- Wait for your device to connect.
Note: If your phone prompts that the router cannot access the internet and asks to switch to a better network, tap Disallow or No to stay connected. Otherwise, the router setup will not complete.
Step 5: Run the Setup Wizard
- Open any web browser on your connected device.
- In the address bar, type 192.168.10.1 and press Enter.
- You will see the ROOXIS Setup Wizard. Click Start Setup.
- On your first login, you will be prompted to set a user login password. Choose a strong password and remember it — this is your admin password for accessing the router settings in the future.
Set Your WiFi Network Name and Password
The wizard will take you to the Setup Wizard — WiFi page:
- WiFi Name (SSID): Enter a name you will recognize, such as "MyHomeWiFi" or any name you prefer. This replaces the default @ROOXIS-XXXX names.
- WiFi Password: Choose a strong password that is at least 12 characters long, mixing uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Click Next to proceed to the Setup Wizard — Network page.
Configure Your Internet Connection
- Choose the correct internet connection type based on what your ISP (Internet Service Provider) provides. DHCP is the most common for home connections. If your ISP requires PPPoE, select that option and enter the username and password provided by your internet service provider.
- Click Next to proceed to the Setup Wizard — Summary page.
- Review all your WiFi and network settings on the summary page.
- Click Apply to save the configuration.
- A dialog saying "Setup Wizard Saved Successfully" will appear. Close the browser to complete the setup.
Tip: The router supports dual-band integration (disabled by default). When enabled, the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks share the same name, and your devices automatically connect to the faster band. To enable it, go to Wireless > WiFi in the management page and toggle Dual-band Integration on.
Warning: Never leave your WiFi network open without a password. Always set a strong WPA2/WPA3 password during setup.
Step 6: Reconnect and Test Your Connection
After the setup is saved:
- Your device will disconnect from the old default network. Open your WiFi settings and connect to the new WiFi name you just created.
- Enter the new WiFi password you set.
- Open a web browser and visit any website to confirm your internet connection is working.
To verify your speeds, visit fast.com or speedtest.net and run a speed test. Your results should be close to the speed tier you pay for with your ISP.
Optimal Placement Tips
Where you place your router has a significant impact on WiFi performance. For the best results:
- Place the router in a central location in your home.
- Keep it elevated on a shelf or table, not on the floor.
- Avoid placing it near microwaves, cordless phones, or large metal objects.
- Keep it away from thick concrete or brick walls when possible.

Troubleshooting
Cannot access 192.168.10.1
- Make sure you are connected to the ROOXIS WiFi network or plugged in via Ethernet to one of the LAN ports.
- Try clearing your browser cache or using a private/incognito window.
- If your phone keeps switching to mobile data, temporarily disable mobile data to force it to stay on the router's WiFi.
No internet after setup
- Confirm your modem is online and working. Try connecting a device directly to the modem with an Ethernet cable to verify.
- Make sure the Ethernet cable is in the WAN (blue) port on the router.
- Restart both the modem and router: power off the modem first, wait 30 seconds, power it on, wait two minutes, then power on the router.
- If your ISP requires PPPoE, go back to 192.168.10.1 and verify your ISP username and password are entered correctly.
WiFi signal is weak in some rooms
- See our router placement guide for optimizing signal coverage.
- Consider connecting to the 2.4 GHz band for longer range, or the 5 GHz band for faster speeds at shorter distances.
Forgot your admin password
- Use a paperclip or pointed object to press and hold the Reset button on the back of the router for more than 5 seconds. Release the button when the indicator light goes off. Once the router restarts and establishes a connection, the factory reset is complete. You will need to run the setup wizard again.
Note: After restoring the router to factory settings, you will need to reconfigure the router completely — WiFi name, password, and internet settings will be erased.
If you are still having trouble, contact ROOXIS Support with your router's model number and serial number (found on the bottom label) and we will help you get connected.
